PREVIEW CON CELEBRITY
Kim Simmons, themanwhoshotlukeskywalker, was very lucky to have started his career just after the Star Wars phenomenon began. By the luck of the draw, he called and got an interview with the design firm who was at the time working hand and hand with Kenner in Cincinnati, Ohio. After looking at the portfolio, it was suggested that he go across the street and speak with Roy Frankenfield, an independent photographer who was on the verge of losing a big account.
As luck would have it, he landed the job and on his first day, he was behind the camera, eight feet in the air, looking down on some Star Wars figures on a yellow background. That was the moment his relationship began with Star Wars.
Little did he realize at that time he would be the one to create scenes for the toys that would capture the imaginations of children around the world.
Within a few years, he had purchased the Photography studio, had been interviewed by Star Wars Magazine, and was given the name themanwhoshotlukeskywalker.
