Dolph Lundgren grew up in Stockholm, Sweden, where he attended the Royal Institute of Technology. In 1983, he was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston, one of the world’s top engineering schools. After receiving his master’s degree, he moved to New York City and pursued a career in acting.
Lundgren is widely renowned for his role as Russian boxing villain ‘Ivan Drago’ in the 1985 film “Rocky IV,” a role he reprised in the 2018 film, “Creed II.” Throughout his career, Dolph has starred in over 50 feature films including “Masters of the Universe” and “The Expendables” franchise. Most recently, Lundgren played DC comic character, ‘King Nereus” in James Wan’s blockbuster film “Aquaman.”
Aside from acting, Lundgren is also a world-class athlete and winner of several international karate competitions. He started practicing martial arts at the age of 14 and now holds a 3rd Dan (third degree Black Belt) in Kyokushinkai.
